Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: Forgiveness
Call To Worship
Leader: Come, God has promised that he will remember our sins no more.
People: We come with true hearts in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience.
Leader: Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds.
People: We come together to encourage one another. Praise be to our Redeemer.
Invocation
Almighty God, we come together as part of your family for whom Christ was willing to be betrayed into the hands of sinners, and to suffer death upon the cross; who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.
Confession
Lord, we confess that from time to time we have been guilty of neglecting to meet with our fellow Christians to worship and encourage one another. Forgive us, we pray. Yes, we have often failed to provoke one another to good deeds. As we stand before the cross on which our Savior died for us, it is with shame and sorrow that we recognize our shortcomings. Renew a right spirit within us, we pray, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Offertory Prayer
Almighty God, accept these our tithes and offerings as an expression of our love, and with them our lives that we may be used by you to spread your love throughout the world. Amen.
Hymns
"O Love Divine, What Hast Thou Done"
"Beneath The Cross Of Jesus"
"Are Ye Able"
