How Good It Is To Live As One
Worship
Lectionary Hymns for Cycle B
New Hymns for the Church Year Calendar with Old Familiar Tunes
Object:
1. How good it is to live as one
In unity and love,
With Christ, the Word, renewing us,
Fit for God’s courts above.
2. How very good and pleasant, too,
Community can be,
When, in the peace of Christ we know,
Mercy that sets us free.
3. Like precious oil poured on the head,
Bestowed on honoured guest,
So is the honour God bestows,
Wherein we find sweet rest.
4. The dew of Herman falls so fine
On Zion’s lofty mount,
And, in its cool refreshing balm,
We’re blessed by God’s own fount.
5. From Zion’s height, God lifts us up,
His blessing there to give:
Eternal life God offers all,
As by his grace we live.
6. We all are one, and Christ in all,
United in him, stand --
Christ’s kindred in the life we share,
Held firm by God’s strong hand.
