When trave’ling to Jerusalem
they came to Bethany.
Th’ apostles were instructed
a tethered colt to free
and bring for Him to ride upon
though it had not been trained.
They said, 'The Lord has need of it,'
when those nearby complained.
Hosanna, Hosanna, let everybody sing
Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna to our King.

They brought the colt to Jesus
and upon it laid a cloak
and Jesus sat upon it.
There were others there who broke
the branches from the trees
and, in his path, they laid them out.
