Marina Gottschalk, a writer for the Oakland Tribune, told a fascinating story under the headline "Amnesty Program Triggers Recollection of Murder Plot." The city of Kensington, California, has been offering a gun amnesty program. A woman brought in a loaded pistol she said she bought 20 years ago to kill her husband! Gottschalk reported, "She never used the gun, but it presumably has been ready to go all these years."2
