Preaching The Lectionary Psalms for Cycles A, B, C
This vibrant psalm celebrates the presence of God in the temple built by Solomon in Jerusalem. The psalmist seems to experience the presence of God both as possibility and reality. Like so much of what we experience with God, there is an "already," but also a "not yet."
The psalmist begins with words filled with awe and wonder. He praises the splendor and beauty of the temple: "How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord of hosts" (v. 1).
