Cycle B, Series IV
Call To Worship
Leader: Let all who have been blessed by the Lord gather now for worship!
People: We have each one in our own way God's blessings and grace.
Leader: And we are each one called to share God's blessings in all of the world.
People: We are blessed that God may use us as blessings to others in need.
Leader: Let us give praise to God for the gift of being a blessing to others.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
Almighty and merciful God, You have through history blessed the nations and the Church through the lives of those You have called to be special blessings. Use us, God, to be blessings. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, so often we have shortened ourselves and those around us of Your blessings because we were unwilling to receive them and share them with others. Too often we have looked at Your blessings as though we felt we deserved them to keep for ourselves and not as though You intended for us to pass them on. Forgive us, Lord. Call us anew to carry Your Good News into the world. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Let There Be Showers Of Blessings"
"Stand Up And Bless The Lord"
"Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus"
Proper 28
Sunday between November 13 and November 19 inclusive
Second Lesson: Hebrews 10:11-14 (15-18) 19-25

Call To Worship
Leader: Let our songs fill the air as we sing praises to Almighty God!
People: For in Christ we have been saved and made members of God's family.
Leader: We are sisters and brothers of Christ, now and forevermore.
People: We celebrate God's wonderful love that redeemed us once for all time.
Leader: Then let us lift our voices in loud praise for the love God has shown us.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O merciful and loving God, You did not hold back even the sinless Christ from going to the cross so that we might be redeemed once and for all. Help us, Lord, to share Your redemption story. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, in today's world of elaborate motion picture and television special effects we have almost lost track of how terrible and brutal the cross which brought our redemption truly was. Forgive us, Lord, and help us return to the reality that our redemption was purchased at a very high cost. Help us share this news with all the peoples of the world. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"At Calvary"
"Near The Cross"
"Near To The Heart Of God"
Proper 28
Sunday between November 13 and November 19 inclusive
Gospel: Mark 13:1-8
Theme: The Lord's return
Call To Worship
Leader: Let us meet together in the house of the Lord until Christ returns!
People: How must we get ready for that day when the Lord will come again?
Leader: The Lord is with us always, in every part and facet of our lives.
People: But will the Day of the Lord be soon or will the Lord tarry?
Leader: This is the Day of the Lord! Let us sing praise and be glad in it.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O merciful and loving God, we await that day when Christ will return to call the Church home into eternity. Help us to be faithful and true servants and stewards until that day comes. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we live our lives as though the day of Your return will never come. We often talk about Your return, but then we live as though we will always have time to change our lives and get ready. Too often our hearts are not focused on eternity but rather only on the matters in front of us today. Forgive us, Lord, and help us be more responsible. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Great Is Thy Faithfulness"
"More Like The Master"
"Yield Not To Temptation"
