Praise the Lord

Object:
God our protector, by your guidance and in your presence we have made it to the end of this journey. We thank you that you were with us every step of the way, even as you were with the Israelites of old. We thank you for the guiding light by night and the protecting cloud by day.
For bread in times of hunger, and water in the dry and thirsty places, we give you hearty thanks. Thank you too for warmth in the cold and for cool breezes in the burning heat. Thank you most of all for cheering our spirits when the way seemed long and dreary, and for picking us up when it seemed we could go on no longer.
We praise you for the gift of your grace and the power of your Holy Spirit that brought us safely to journey's end. Grant, O God, that our journey through life may bring us to as joyous an ending in your eternal presence. Amen.
