Saying "Yes" To Jesus

Matthew To Revelation
Object: a red floor tile, a white floor tile, and a gray floor tile (you may use three of anything that has these colors)
Good morning, boys and girls. Is everyone happy? (let them answer) Do you make other people feel good when you are with them? (let them answer) That's good! Some people feel good and never show it. Other people feel good and help other people to feel good. I want you to make people feel good by just being near them.
Today, we are going to learn a lesson that is a hard one to learn. How many of you say, "Maybe," or "I don't care." Is there anyone here who says, "It doesn't make any difference"? (take out your gray tile) "Maybe" is a gray answer. "I don't care" is a gray answer. "It doesn't make any difference" is a gray answer. We don't like gray answers.
How many of you say, "No," a lot or "Not me," a lot? "No" is a red answer. (hold up your red tile) When I ask someone to help me and they say, "No," or "Not me," or "Ask somebody else," I feel bad because I wanted to share something with you.
How many of you say, "Yes," a lot or "Okay, you can count on me"? (hold up your white tile) What a difference "Yes" makes when you are trying to do something and you need someone to help. "Yes" makes you feel great.
Saint Paul told the Christians in Corinth about the same things. They were always in the "Maybe" class instead of the "Yes" class. They could say, "No," but most of the time it was just "Maybe." Paul said there was never a time that Jesus did not say, "Yes," to them.
Paul said Jesus said, "Yes," to forgiving them. Jesus said, "Yes," when it was time to die for them. Jesus said, "Yes," when they needed his help in any way. Jesus was the Savior. Jesus said, "Yes, I love you." Jesus said, "Yes, I will heal you." Jesus said, "Yes," when they wanted to share eternal life. Jesus was a "Yes" person.
When it comes to talking with Jesus, "Maybe" is a habit, a bad habit. "No" is a habit, a bad habit. "Yes" is also a habit but it is a good habit when you are serving God. If Jesus says, "Please help me and share your gifts with my people," he doesn't want to hear "Maybe" or "No." Jesus wants us to lift up our hearts and say, "Yes." Yes, I will learn, yes, I will follow, and yes, I will share with God and all of God's friends.
