For Second Marriage With Children
Sermon
Wedding Sermons And Marriage Ceremonies
Pastor: Mr. and Mrs. (Groom's parents' name), Mr. and Mrs. (Bride's parents' name), friends, and witnesses, we have gathered here to celebrate the marriage of (Groom) and (Bride), who have fallen in love and willingly chosen this occasion to pledge publicly their vows to each other.
They have discovered their individual love has purpose and fulfillment in each other. Their desire is to cultivate the conditions of that love and to fulfill its highest meaning. (Bride) and
(Groom) know that God has impregnated that love with his divine destiny for them. In this spirit they are not marrying because of their physical attraction for one another, but because they want to experience God's best for their lives together.
We come to celebrate with them this glowing love. Each of us here is incredibly happy and filled with joy for this occasion of marriage of (Groom) and (Bride).
Pastoral Prayer: All--mighty, knowing God, we come in your presence today asking for a special blessing upon (Bride) and (Groom). Join them in their destiny throughout the rest of their lives. As they give verbal vows and hear from each other's heart, may they know that their lives will center in each other and in you. May their hearts sing for joy and happiness now and forever! Amen.
Solo: "Grow Old With Me" (by John Lennon)
Pastor: (Groom), do you take (Bride) to be your wife as you begin your marital journey? Do you promise to give your whole self to her completely? Do you promise to tell her how much you love her - often? Do you covenant to gaze into her heart but look outward at life together in the same direction? Will you forsake every other relationship and be devoted to her? If so say, "I do."
Groom: I do.
Pastor: (Bride), do you take (Groom) to be your husband as you begin your marital journey? Do you promise to give your whole self to him completely? Do you promise to tell him how much you love him - often? Do you covenant to gaze into his heart but look outward at life together in the same direction? Will you forsake every other relationship and be devoted to him? If so say, "I do."
Bride: I do.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving By Family Friend
Lighting Of The Unity Candle By Couple
( as a reading from Sonnets from the Portugese by Elizabeth Barrett Browning is read):
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight for the end of being and ideal grace. I love thee to the level of every day's most quiet need, by sun and candlelight. I love thee freely, as they turn from praise. I love thee with passion put to use in my old griefs, and with my childhood faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose with my lost saints. I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, of all my life! And, if God chooses, I shall but love thee after death.
Instrumental Music: "You Light Up My Life"
Pastor: (To Congregation) Will you lend your hearts and concerns to this couple and their children, upholding them in prayer and encouraging them in their new life?
Congregation: Yes, we will.
Pastor: Since you have exchanged vows and rings with each other before this congregation of witnesses, I declare by the authority of the (Church) and the state of (State) that you are husband and wife. What God has joined together let no one separate.
(Groom), you may now kiss your bride.
It is my distinct honor to present to you (First Name) and (First Name) (Last Name).
