Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Second Lesson: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
Theme: I See It Now
Call To Worship (adapted from Psalm 36:9)
With God is the fountain of life. In God's light we see light.
Collect
Lord in heaven, we come to you as a people of many gifts. We come to you as the people of one Spirit, one God. The world seeks to divide us into 1,000 identities, but in our diversity we see clearly that you call us to be one body in Christ. We come today to offer our gifts to you that we might grow in service and wisdom. Send your Spirit to dwell with us today. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
So many gifts, Lord, you have scattered among us. Rather than scramble to claim another's gift we praise you today for the blessings you have provided each one of us, treasures we are to share, not hoard. Thank you, Lord, for the diversity of your fellowship. May it be that all humanity, all cultures, all races, all ages, all economies, all nations, friend and enemy, may be gathered in your name to create at last your kingdom. Amen.
Hymns
They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love
There Are Many Gifts, But The Same Spirit
God Be With You Till We Meet Again
