Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle C
Theme: Abram Put His Trust In The Lord
Call To Worship
Leader: The Lord is my light and my salvation; I will fear no one.
People: The Lord protects me from all danger; I will never be afraid.
Leader: I have asked the Lord for one thing; one thing only do I want, to live in the Lord's house all my life.
People: To marvel there at his goodness, and to ask for his guidance.
Leader: Come, let us worship together, and seek the Lord's guidance.
Collect
We come to you, Lord, trusting in your promises, asking your forgiveness for past failures, and seeking your guidance for the days ahead. Like Abram of old, we put our trust in you, and pray that you will make known to each of us gathered here your will for our lives. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Almighty God, there are times when we feel we are all alone, and we fail to take time to seek your guidance. We think we can make it on our own, only to discover that without you leading us and strengthening us, we make foolish choices. Forgive our lack of trust, we pray, and by the power of your Holy Spirit enable us always and in all circumstances to look to you for guidance. In Jesus'Êname we pray. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord, accept these gifts as symbols of our trust in you. With gratitude for your constant care and guidance, we also offer ourselves that we may be living symbols of your love for all your children. Amen.
Hymns
"Jesus, Keep Me Near The Cross"
"Do Lord, Remember Me"
"Beneath The Cross Of Jesus"

Call To Worship
Leader: God calls us to come and worship him.
People: We come, Lord, and we will sing praises to you.
Leader: We know that we will live to see the Lord's goodness in this present life.
People: We do not despair. We have faith and we trust in the Lord. Amen.
Collect
Lord, we come to you recognizing that we are in this world, but we are not of this world. We are citizens of your kingdom, and we want you to be proud of us. Christ has set the example for our lives, and we pray that as a result of our worship experience this day your Holy Spirit will come among us, giving us the power and determination to be faithful followers of our Lord and Master, even Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
When we are tempted, God, by the ways of the world, call us back to the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Keep us from becoming enemies of our Lord, and fortify us to keep on following in the footsteps of your Son, who lived and died and was resurrected for our salvation. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Heavenly Father, the gifts we bring cannot be compared to the great gift you have given us in your Son, Jesus Christ. We bring them, though, as tokens of our love for you, and our determination to work through your Church to bring to the citizens of the world the Good News that they are called by you to be citizens of heaven sharing in the love and joy, the hope and the promise of eternal life made known to us in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Hymns
"I Am Thine, O Lord"
