Your Throne, O God, A Place Of Grace
Worship
Lectionary Hymns for Cycle B
New Hymns for the Church Year Calendar with Old Familiar Tunes
Object:
1. Your throne, O God, a place of grace,
From whence all good things flow,
Draws multitudes to seek your face,
And worship in its glow.
That throne, a blessed mercy seat,
Symbolic of your reign,
Compels all evil to retreat,
And Christ, dominion gain.
2. Forever shall your throne endure,
And all your ways be just;
Your royal sceptre, ever sure,
Makes righteousness a must.
Love is the mantel over all,
By which life is best known,
As souls, responsive to your call,
Live in your way, alone.
3. My heart o’erflows, in praise I owe,
My gracious God and King;
As on me, blessings you bestow,
Of you, in joy, I sing.
The oil of gladness marks the one
Who leads us in life’s way:
Christ Jesus, whom the vict’ry won,
Remains our hope and stay.
Proper 17/Pentecost 15/Ordinary Time 22
Based on Psalm 45:1-2, 6-9
May be sung to ELLACOMBE, CMD
