Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
Faithful God, you never give up on human beings but continue to love them in all circumstances. Thank you for your Church where human beings can be nurtured and feel your touch. May your Church be like Peter and when necessary, dare to cast its net on the other side, so that it may enjoy a huge haul of fish. And may all churches work together to pull in that haul, so that no fish may be left dying on the beach.
Faithful God, you never give up on human beings but continue to love them in all circumstances. Our society hears the good news with your words of salvation, yet we still turn away from you to worship money and wealth and all that money can offer. Our governments fight to lower taxes and increase standards of living, yet when that means neglecting the poor and neglecting the needs of our planet, we are content. May our faith grow so strong that we will do anything to improve conditions for all human beings and for our descendants.
Faithful God, you never give up on human beings but continue to love them in all circumstances. May we become aware of the needs of our community here in ... and respond to those needs. May we be honest but gentle and constructive in our criticisms of those in authority. May we avoid gossip and cliques. And may we so love you that our love begins to overflow to all those around us, so that we too may become people of faith rather than simply believers.

Give us such deep faith that we are able to place ourselves in your hands without worry or fear, trusting you for the outcome. We hold in your presence today our friends who are sick ...., asking that they may be restored to health and wholeness of being.
Faithful God, you never give up on human beings but continue to love them in all circumstances. And so we bring into your strong and supportive presence those who have lost someone they love, either recently or in previous years at this time. When they feel that their world is at an end, may they become especially aware of your passion for them. When they are in the depths of despair may they know that they are the apple of your eye. And as they gradually come through this time of trial, may they emerge with faith which is strong and adult.
