God Of The Whisper...
Intercession
Prayers usually include these concerns and may follow this sequence:

God of the whisper, there are times when it would be easier if you'd just step in and put things right. We ordinary people are so helpless in the face of organised evil, for we don't have money or position or power. Why can't you just wipe out evil? Why don't you storm in and overturn the tables of the moneychangers, so to speak? God of the whisper, it's difficult to trust your way of just allowing people to get on with whatever they want to do. Why don't you make them listen? Why don't you force them to take notice?
Help me to realise that the vineyard is my responsibility. Remind me that it only needs good people to do nothing, for evil to prosper. Give me the courage to stand up and be counted, and give me the inner strength to stake my life on my belief in you.

God of the whisper, one of our problems in the Church is that we all seem to have different benchmarks. We don't seem to be able to speak with one voice, but instead tend to rail against each other in our desire for your Church to be perfect. When you whisper to us God, help us to hear what you're saying. We so often hear only the cacophony of our own thoughts, and assume in our arrogance that we're hearing your voice. When you whisper to us God, help us to identify your whisper amongst the many discordant sounds we hear.
