Object:
Teachers: For this exercise you will need magazines to cut
from and poster board. Mary travels to be with Elizabeth. Both
women are soon going to have babies. When Mary arrives, Elizabeth
is filled with the Holy Spirit. Tell your students this story.
Mary and Elizabeth must have been good friends. Ask your students
to think of experiences that each enjoys doing with her best
friend. Make a list of what some of these things happen to be.
Then pass around magazines. Have the students cut out pictures of
friends having a good time. Paste the pictures to poster board
paper. The headline could state "Friendship."
Parents: Your child learned about the friendship between Mary and Elizabeth. Tell your child about some of the experiences you had while you were pregnant. Do you recall the first time your child moved inside your body? Do you recall the first time you felt your child's heartbeat? Show your child some of the pictures of you while you were pregnant.
