a guarantee document
Good morning! I have something to show you this morning. Do
you know what this is? (Show the guarantee document and let them
answer.) That's right. This is a guarantee form which says ...
(read main statement in the form). What this means is that the
company is certain that the device will work.
Now, Paul once wrote a letter to the church at Ephesus
telling them and us about a much better guarantee that God gives
to us. Paul says that all believers are marked with the seal of
the promised Holy Spirit and that this is a pledge, or a
guarantee, of our inheritance toward redemption as God's people.
What Paul means by that is that people like you and me who
believe in Jesus have a guarantee that we will be saved and go to
Heaven. All people who believe have God's Holy Spirit within them
as a guarantee of salvation! Isn't that a wonderful thing? Aren't
you glad you have that guarantee! (Let them answer.)
Of course, all guarantees have some conditions. On the
guarantee that I showed you, it says ... (explain the
restrictions on the guarantee). God's guarantee also has a
condition. The guarantee is only for believers! If you turn from
God and stop believing in Jesus, the guarantee is not going to be
any good. Only those people who believe are given the guarantee.
Now, do all of you believe in Jesus? Do you all know that he is
your personal friend and that he died for you on the cross? (Let
them answer.) That's good!
Now, let's thank God for giving us such a wonderful
guarantee.
Our Dear Father in Heaven: We thank You so much for guaranteeing
that we will be with You forever in Heaven because we believe in
Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
