Hey, God! I'm the greatest!
Object:
two papers: one with the word "arrogant" and another with the word "humble"
This morning I have two words to discuss with you. The first is the word "arrogant." (hold up the paper) Who can tell me what this word means? (get responses) My dictionary says that arrogance is being "overly convinced of one's own importance." Arrogant people are haughty and vain. They think they're the greatest people in the whole world. The second word today is "humble." (hold up the other paper) The dictionary says that humble people are "marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude or spirit." They respect others and think of others before themselves.
