The last enemy
Children's sermon
Object:
picture of a tombstone or grave -- even a picture of
Jesus' empty grave
The Apostle Paul says that the last enemy to be destroyed is
death. Can you tell me what death is? (Let them answer.) Death is
when the life goes out of something that is living. I had a pet
that died. The life was gone and only the body was left behind. I
was very, very sad. Death is a cruel enemy. I knew I would never
play with that pet again. Never again would he come when I called
him. Never again would he let me pet him. Never again would I see
him run and jump and play and do all the funny things he did when
he was alive.
