Shouting for Jesus
Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Cardstock or other heavy paper (may be pre-cut to 2" by 6")
Scissors (optional)
Yarn in bright colors
Markers
Stickers or scraps of paper and glue
Small hole punches
Directions:
1. Have each child cut two rectangles of paper each measuring 2" by 6" if you have not pre-cut them.
2. Using a small hole punch and lining both rectangles up together, direct the students to make holes at regular intervals around the rectangles.
3. Have the children write "I am proud to be a Christian" on one side of one of the rectangles using the markers. Allow them to be creative with color and design.
4. Let the children decorate the other side of the rectangles, using the stickers or paper scraps.
5. Give each child enough yarn to lace the two rectangles together.
6. Direct the children to begin lacing at the center of the top so that the knot is there.
7. After lacing the rectangles together, have the children tie off the ends.
8. Help the children make tassels, using a length of yarn and a slip knot.
