In 1965 two time capsules were buried in New York City. They contain information we wish to transmit to future generations. The capsules are constructed of metal harder than steel and can withstand the worst of earthquakes. They contain photographs of towns, cars, ships, airplanes, fabrics, coins, tools, and the like. They also contain a "key"--a booklet with which to translate the written materials into future languages.
