A short time ago a hitherto rather unknown prophet made headlines from a small, South American country. He not only created an international incident, but he took with him, in death, over 900 followers who drank poison. His name was Jim Jones. The story stimulated a lot of talk about cults and false prophets. There have been such cults and leaders throughout history, but few of them made the international scene until now.
