Abraham Lincoln is said to have had a poignant dream a few weeks before he died. Lincoln dreamed that he heard the sound of people crying. In his dream, he left his bedroom, and walked around the White House, going from room to room, still hearing the same sobbing cries. Finally, he went into the east room, and there he found a corpse, dressed with burial garments. People were standing around sobbing and staring at the corpse. The corpse's face was covered up, so Lincoln couldn't tell who it was. Finally, Lincoln asked someone standing nearby who had died.
