After an acquaintance I will call Maureen Jackson passed through a trying time in which she wrestled with once repressed memories of early incest, she knew both that she would survive the turmoil and that she was a changed person.

At first, she no longer wanted to own the family name she had carried 40 years. Maureen said, "I had never considered that a name could be so important. I wanted to put everything behind me and start fresh. But I couldn't erase an entire life. Without fully realizing it, nearly three decades of my life had been influenced by the incest."
