How far can a light be seen? Even the light of one candle can destroy the darkness. During World War II it was reported that one small candle produced light that could be seen two miles away! At that time when blackouts in European cities were ordered during aircraft bombing, it was obvious how light could effect the scene. We are so accustomed to light at night it seems most unreal when the power is off and we are in the dark.
