Being a messenger for God is not an easy task, even if you're St. John the Baptizer or St. Paul. To be a good messenger one needs to love the message, the sender, and the receiver. Today's Epistle shows how the Christian community of Phillipi was a special pastor/flock relationship to him. He begins as if writing a love letter to those to whom he returned twice. Of all his journeys, Phillipi gave him no anxieties and is the only community from which he accepted material help. Surely God had begun a good work in them (verse 6) and will complete it in the Day of Christ.
