Being a volunteer umpire for a little league baseball game can be hazardous to your health. The kids who play the game aren't too bad to deal with when left alone. But the fans, coaches, and parents -- especially the parents -- often become so upset with the calls of the umpires they threaten to ruin the game for the kids. They can't seem to remember their job descriptions. The umpire's job not to play the game or coach. Parents are not to umpire, coaches are not to umpire, players are not to umpire.
