Born again -- and again -- and again
Commentary
Joshua 24 is another of those pivotal chapters in the Old
Testament that not only pulls together what has happened up to
this point, but also sets the tone for what follows. Under the
leadership of Joshua things have gone about the same as under
Moses. Though not without fault, Joshua, like Moses, has been
faithful to his calling. As for the people, their pattern of
instability and unreliability, so evident in the wilderness
years, remains unchanged. It is a moment for calling them to
