A California psychiatrist named Richard Harris came up with a psychological principle that he called "I'm OK -- You're OK." He went about the country lecturing. His book stayed at the top of the bestseller list for over a year.
Think about that phrase: "I'm OK -- You're OK." It's not as simple as it looks at first glance. One has to feel good about oneself, and then one can begin to accept others as all right. When we don't feel good about ourselves, we find fault with others.
