Certain actions are said to be habit forming. Some habits are not healthy, like the habits of eating when watching television, smoking, or biting your fingernails. Other habits stand you in good stead, like washing your hands after coming home from a day of shopping. Still other habits tend to be more neutral in nature, for instance, sticking your hand in your pocket and jingling keys when talking to another person. Everyone has habits. Indeed, we are told that successful people develop certain habits which lead to and help maintain success.
