A compelling scene in Francis Ford Coppola's film version of Bram Stoker's Dracula finds a man believed to be insane and bound interminably in his jail cell, vouching safe the dark secrets of his master's power. Throughout the movie this poor soul screams, "Master, you promised me eternal life." The master, who is Dracula, has promised eternal life to the man in exchange for his loyalty and soul. Believing his master's omnipotence, he vows to maintain the secret of his identity.
