The Corinthian Christians were dividing the Body as they elevated one gift over others. They might have done well to recall the Spirit grants different gifts to various members, and all are helpful. That's the message, also, of this fable by Aesop, "The Peacock and Juno."
A peacock, feeling one day quite discontented, said to the goddess Juno:
"Why did you not give me such a good voice as the nightingale? Everyone is pleased to hear its voice, whereas I am laughed at for the ugly, screaming noise I make."
