For a decade Hector Marciel (pronounced Mach ale) has worked for a private university as a dormitory housekeeper. He reports to work at 6:30 a.m. and works eight hours. After he leaves, Hector and his spouse, Armida, (pronounced Are me dah) begin an eight-hour shift cleaning a local elementary school. A third job on the weekend gives him a 100-hour workweek. They are now in their early fifties but still work for minimum wage.

The Marciel family is at church on Sunday. They are faithful in their gifts to the church and volunteer whenever possible.
