Dennis had learned over the years that whenever a problem seemed to be insurmountable, he needed to try to see it from another point of view. Sometimes, if he'd just put the problem aside for a day or two he'd have fresh insight regarding a solution when he came back to it. But some problems required more; some required him to draw on his compassion, to mentally put himself in another person's circumstances in order to understand a perspective vastly different from his own. This was often rather difficult.
