Does the rope of discipline provide an external, controlling stranglehold which eventually says to the child within us, "You are really more of a thing than a person. You are a mere extension of someone else."?

Does the rope of discipleship present a guide, a request which awakens our inner controls and nurtures self-discipline?

True learning, which brings wisdom, invites rather than imposes. We experience a connection with a part deep within us. It brings us to say, "Yes, I do see how it is."
