Emphasis Preaching Journal

During my day-to-day parish ministry I am often amazed by the all encompassing presence of God. I have frequently been taught about God by people who have met God in places I could not even imagine. If I was ready to hear from the woman who saw God at work in the birth of a child she had yearned for through many years of disappointment, I was surprised by the woman who saw God in the death of her father. He had died suddenly after being diagnosed with an illness which could have been expected to cause a painful and lingering death.
