During the torture of his crucifixion Jesus prayed for forgiveness for his enemies. Christ cried, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." The next time we gather for worship most of us will probably pray, "... and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." It is often easier to pray for forgiveness in church than to practice it in the real world of sin and sorrow. Corrie ten Boom and her sister Bessie were Dutch women who risked their lives during World War II by hiding Jews in their home.
