Each year, the government of Australia sets aside one day as a National Day of Forgiveness. On this day, the citizens of Australia are encouraged to ask forgiveness from the Aborigines who first lived on the land. People have been known to sign giant "I'm sorry" cards and help decorate large signs with various phrases of repentance. Not all Australians feel it's necessary to apologize for the wrongs done to the Aborigines in the past, but as a whole, Australia is making a brave effort to turn from the sins of their history.
