In an earlier century, the great violinist, Bocher, substituted his talent for that of a poor,
poor violinist. This poor violinist was dressed nearly in rags, and he attempted to play the
violin to earn some money. He had little talent, and he placed his ragged hat out for
money. A few coins were placed in it. Mr. Bocher asked to use the poor man's violin.
Bocher was such a marvelous musician that soon crowds were gathered around. The hat
was filled with money. Bocher gave the money to the poor man. As Bocher continued to
play, the hat was filled again and again.
