Eating humble pie
Commentary
My family lives in a typical, middle-class suburb just outside the nation's capital. There was a time, when this development was built some 40 years ago, when virtually all of the families who lived here were of European descent. (I know that to be the case because by sheer coincidence, a friend of mine from our graduate school days in Tennessee grew up just six doors down, although his family has since moved from the area. Small world!) That is certainly no longer the case.
