Ed and Dave were brothers. But they didn't get along and hadn't for years. Growing up in a rural community made things difficult. They ignored each other's presence when they crossed paths in the post office or grocery store. They didn't acknowledge each other Sunday morning as they sat but a few pews apart in church. And they tried the utmost to keep their wives and children from talking with each other.
