Every institution and company has a grievance policy, a way to address problems that arise between co-workers, or between employers and employees. Many of the grievance policies closely follow the pattern that Jesus set down in Matthew 18. An example is the student grievance policy at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Students can seek to resolve their grievances either formally or informally. The informal approach begins by meeting with the offending party directly to discuss the issue.
