Every morning it was the same. Up before dawn, the athletic nuts would gather outside the doors of the YMCA and wait for the lifeguard to show up and unlock the place. There were the "regulars" who came every day, and the "bingers" -- those who came only after major holidays or other occasions on which they had overindulged in life's caloric delights. Ben and Susan were two of the "regulars." It didn't take Susan long to classify Ben as creatively acerbic.
