Extravagance has never had a great appeal for me. While I want to own things of good quality and do not mind paying for that quality, there is a line that I'm unwilling to cross. Of course, what's extravagant in my mind is commonplace for another. And what's commonplace for me is extravagant to someone else. So what's the standard for judging whether something is extravagant or not? Clearly its intended use and recipient enter into the discussion. Whatever we do for Christ should be done in the same way he did for us ... and for us he gave his life.
