Four generations of the Higginson family were all gathered for the annual reunion. There were the usual grandparents, greater and lesser, a horde of aunts, uncles, and cousins of all ages, and various additions through the institution of marriage.
There was a new baby, just days old and the center of attention, a living symbol that the Higginson Clan was indeed forever ordained to occupy planet earth. But the baby would not stop crying. It was now noticed by all because "babies should not cry so."
