A friend of mine is quite handy, so he was confident he could throw together a small computer desk in an hour. Like many handymen, he is not one to waste time reading instructions. He was not too far into the project when he realized that he was in over his head. In desperation he turned to the instructions, saw where he had gone wrong, and after a little disassembly, was able to get the project back on track. I imagine the disciples, like most students, were chomping at the bit to go out and try their skills, but Jesus holds them back for final instructions.
