Garrison Keillor, author and originator of the popular radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, wrote a 1997 Christmas article in which he told that he planned to give practical Christmas gifts: white underwear, books of 32-cent stamps, and packages of dried food, such as macaroni and cheese. He said, "Christmas is 1) lights, 2) food, 3) song, with 4) people you like to be with. Light a candle, put dinner on the table, sing "O Little Town Of Bethlehem," and look into your children's eyes, and you've got Christmas pure and simple. You need no more."
