Garry Wills developed a study of the colorful and influential Kennedy family titled The Kennedy Imprisonment: A Meditation on Power. As it turns out, the study reveals contrasts in style of character and administration of many presidents. Mr. Wills explains his view of Presidents Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Jerry Ford. He observes how each of these presidents viewed their roles differently. Each, of course, had a different self-image. Each had a different sense of power and how it was to be used.
