George Gershwin, the famous U.S. songwriter and composer, maintained a close friendship with pianist and wit Oscar Levant. Levant once asked Gershwin in private, "Tell me, George, if you had to do it all over, would you fall in love with yourself again?" The writer of Hebrews might ask disciples of the Crucified, "Tell me, if you had to do it all over again, would you still provoke one another to love and good deeds?"
