Glendon Harris told a story...

Glendon Harris told a story about Peter the Great. The story came from Robert K. Massie's book about the Russian ruler. Peter ruled Russia from 1689 to 1725. Peter was a shy man. He liked to slip out of the palace and go to the shipyards. There, he built boats. He wore work clothes and worked with the carpenters. He tried to work without being recognized. One day as he worked, he was spotted. A crowd gathered around him. One fellow kept getting in Peter's way. The emperor lost his temper. He grabbed a plank and hit the man over the head. The stunned man reeled backwards.
