God established with Abram a covenant for all time, a promise not to be altered by the passing of the years. Such constancy is rare in our world. The Great Sphinx has proudly stood for 46 centuries in the Egyptian desert. But modern pollution and warfare in this century have done more damage than the Sphinx had experienced in the previous 45 centuries. The Sphinx's body is eroding. Its paws and tail are crumbling. Likewise, the Parthenon in Athens, Greece is another victim of modern society.
